CIS September 2004

Site Description

In September 2004 the RRV Charles Darwin visited the CIS site to service the moorings.
The cruise had had to be abbreviated due to engine trouble which had forced the vessel to return to port for repairs. Despite bad weather conditions the ships crew and the scientific team successfully recovered and redeployed all the ANIMATE moorings.
Unfortunately the telemetry failed immediately so no real time data is being received.
When the delayed mode data was recovered it was found that the telemetry mooring had become detached in late October so the top 2 microcats were not at their nominal depths.
